Toys ‘R’ Us Partners with Target for an Online Comeback

Toys ‘R’ Us isn’t done yet.

According to UPI, the toy store is partnering with Target for an online comeback.

Toys ‘R’ Us filed for bankruptcy in 2018, following a terrible 2017 holiday season, and closed 900 stores. Some executives and creditors, however, created Tru Kids Inc. to keep the brand’s intellectual property.

Now Tru Kids Inc. has formed a partnership with Target to relaunch toysrus.com–just in time for the Christmas shopping season.

Shoppers can select a toy through the Toys ‘R’ Us website and then will be redirected to Target.com to finish the purchase.

Toys ‘R’ Us also plans to test out “experiential retail stores” in Houston, Texas and Paramus, New Jersey this fall.

Target will power the associated online sales. “The stores are designed to showcase new products out of the box, and create memorable experiences for kids and families that allow for in-person product discovery,” Target said in a statement.
