Breaking up with a significant other is rough at any time of year, but especially before the holidays. If you’ve been thinking of ending your relationship but you’ve been putting it off, you’d better get a move on because today is the last day you can do it before Christmas and New Year, according to a recent study.
According to a survey by Hillarys.co.uk, Friday, December 6 is the last day it’s decent to break someone’s heart this year. That’s according to 2,643 couples and singles in the UK who said anything later than that is just unacceptable. A whopping 32% of people believe that keeping the relationship going until at least January is the decent thing to do, but December is a really popular time to break up, apparently. According to The Independent, two weeks before Christmas is one of the most popular times to break up. Rough! “You think that December would be the most popular time of year for couples to get together, but this research reveals quite the opposite,” said Lucy Askew, spokeswoman for Hillarys.co.uk.
