San Francisco’s famously crooked Lombard Street might soon be something you have to pay to drive down.
According to the AP, city and state officials introduced a bill on Monday that would enforce both a toll and reservation system for motorists seeking to drive down the notoriously steep street.
Doing so, they argue, would reduce crowds, trash, trespassing, and traffic congestion caused by tourists in the Russian Hill neighborhood. S
o far, proposals have included charging $5 for per vehicle on weekdays and $10 on weekends and holidays, as well as requiring an online reservation.
