Elton John is down to the last three dates of his Million Dollar Piano residency in Las Vegas. He says, “Hard to believe this is my final week at Caesars Palace. It’s been a wonderful residency. I’ll miss you, Vegas.” The last show is Thursday.

Boston’s “More Than a Feeling” will be used in the season finale of The Goldbergs on ABC Wednesday. Upon hearing the news, Boston’s Tom Scholz said, “When I recorded ‘More Than a Feeling’ in the basement of an apartment house 42 years ago, I had no idea that it would resonate with so many people. My goal was to write music that would motivate, inspire, or just give people a little escape from their everyday lives. It’s awesome to see these songs still being enjoyed so many years later.”

Cheap Trick is mourning the loss of longtime crew member Dave Wilmer. Drummer Bun E. Carlos writes, “Dave handled guitars, caught the five-neck when thrown [by Rick Nielsen], and he played keyboards on ‘Surrender’ in stadiums and arenas around the world with CT.”

Robert Palmer’s “Simply Irresistible” is being used in a Chase bank commercial.

Ringo Starr had a bit of a senior moment on Saturday when he posted that it was “50 years ago today I got my first LUDWIG kit.” Realizing his mistake, he followed it up with, “I got too excited. It’s actually 55 years since I got my first Ludwig drum set.”

The Zombies will tour Britain in June, with shows in other parts of Europe over the remainder of 2018. Their only remaining U.S. date this year is at the Kaaboo Del Mar festival in Southern California on September 14th.

Brian Wilson tweets, “I’m feeling a lot better and can’t wait to see you soon at our shows!” Wilson, who recently underwent back surgery, also posted a photo showing him sitting up in a chair and smiling — apparently having lost some weight.

Michael McDonaldDiana Ross and a double-bill of Gladys Knight and The O’Jays represent classic pop in the opening season of shows at New York’s new outdoor venue, Pier 17. The Manhattan location is on the East River in the shadow of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
