TRIVIA:
This is the third of the rebooted Planet of the Apes movies.
A fourth movie is already in the works.
This is the eighth feature film in the franchise.
The first Planet of the Apes movie came out in 1968.

WISH UPON (Horror)
WHAT’S IT ABOUT? A teenage girl discovers a box that carries magic powers and a deadly price for using them.
WHO’S IN IT? Sherilyn Fenn, Joey King, Elisabeth Rohm, Ryan Phillippe

TRIVIA:
The movie is loosely based on the classic short story The Monkey’s Paw.
This is the third horror movie Joey King has appeared in, following The Conjuring and Quarantine.
The budget was $12 million.

MANSON FAMILY: Movie in the Works
Quentin Tarantino will direct a movie about the notorious 1969 Manson Family murders.
Charles Manson, now 82, is still serving time for ordering two brutal attacks that killed seven people in Hollywood in August 1969.
Australian Margot Robbie is reportedly in talks to play Valley of the Dolls actress Sharon Tate, who was one of the victims. Jennifer Lawrence, Samuel Jackson and Brad Pitt have also reportedly met with the director about possible roles in the picture, with Pitt possibly playing a news reporter investigating the case.

Ray Phiri, the South African jazz guitarist featured on Paul Simon’s Graceland album, died today (Wednesday) of lung cancer. He was 70. Simon writes on Facebook, “He was a beautiful, masterful guitarist and an inventive musician. He will be remembered as a patriot who used his music to fight apartheid… His contribution to Graceland was immense and I am grateful and honored to have worked with him.”

Christine Baranski will reprise her role as Tanya in the upcoming Mamma Mia! film sequel, Here We Go Again! The new film will again use ABBA songs in its score — just different ones from the 2008 film.
Did you realize Mamma Mia is still running in London? The ABBA-based musical is now the fifth longest-running musical in the city’s West End theater district.

Strawberry Alarm Clock will re-record their ‘60s chart-topper “Incense and Peppermints.” The psychedelic band, featuring much of the original lineup, has been playing L.A. clubs. The new version will feature Greg Munford, who sang lead on the original record but never toured with or became an official member of the band.
