“One time we were doing a television show and he was talking about playing San Quentin in 1958, and I said, ‘You didn’t have a voice that day, Cash!’ And he turned around like, ‘How the hell would you know?’ And I said, ‘I was there.’ It blew him backwards,” Merle Haggard, who was in the crowd during Cash’s 1958 performance at the prison, told Men’s Journal.

According to the Tennessean, records that were filed in Nashville’s Davidson Probate Court show that Campbell’s daughter Kelli, and sons William Travis and Wesley Kane, Campbell’s children with second wife Billie Jean Nunley, are excluded from any direct benefit from the estate. The 13-page will, which is dated September 1, 2006, also names Kim Campbell as the executor.
A hearing on the will is now scheduled for January 18 before Davidson Probate Judge David “Randy” Kennedy.
Campbell passed away at the age of 81 in August after battling Alzheimer’s. He was married three times during his life.

NEIL YOUNG: Archives Launched
In addition to releasing his new album with Promise of the Real, The Visitor, on Friday, Neil Young also launched his long-awaited online archive.

Young introduced the new site by writing that he and his team “developed the site to provide fans and music historians with unprecedented access” to all his music and to his entire archives. They spent years developing it “to make it both enjoyable and easy to use.”

Fans can now go to NeilYoungArchives.com and listen to Young’s entire catalog with the best possible audio quality. Actually, it’s not just a listening experience, since it also contains all the films he’s done, as well as all sorts of information about his recordings, including photos and other memorabilia connected to the music.
The Neil Young Archive will be free for everyone between now and next June 30th, after which there will be “a very modest fee,” according to Young. To help navigate the site, he has shot a 10-minute tutorial video that’s posted on YouTube and his social media. Unfortunately, it works only on computers and not mobile devices.
To celebrate the opening of his archives, Young live-streamed his Friday night show from Coronation Hall in Omemee, Ontario, Canada, the town that he grew up in. Among the treats was the first live performance of “There’s a World,” from Harvest, since 1971.
In other Neil Young news, he posted a video for “Already Great,” from The Visitor, on Friday. The song is Young’s answer to President Trump’s slogan “Make America great again.”

After Bette accused the TV journalist of groping her in the ’70s, Geraldo tweeted on Friday, “Although I recall the time @BetteMidler has alluded to much differently than she, that does not change the fact that she has a right to speak out & demand an apology from me, for in the very least, publically embarrassing her all those years ago. Bette, I apologize.”

Bette first made the accusation in a 1991 interview with Barbara Walters, but the video re-appeared after Geraldo defended Matt Lauer. Bette tweeted, “Tomorrow is my birthday. I feel like this video was a gift from the universe to me. Geraldo may have apologized for his tweets supporting Matt Lauer, but he has yet to apologize for this. #MeToo.” (NY Daily News)
