Liliane Bettencourt, the heiress to the L’Oreal cosmetics empire and the world’s wealthiest woman, has died. She was 94.

She was one of the principal shareholders of L’Oréaland at the time of her death was the richest woman and the fourteenth richest person in the world, with a net worth of US$44.3 billion, as of the 2017 version of “The World’s Billionaires.”

 

The Global Citizen Festival at New York’s Central Park on Saturday, headlined by Stevie Wonder, will be shown live on MSNBC starting at 3:00 p.m. ET.
